Newsletter 1/2/2026 - Happy 2026! Reflecting & Moving Forward with What's A Mortgage 🎢✨

Hey What’s A Mortgage family,
First off—Happy New Year.
I hope you had a great New Year’s Eve and that 2025 closed strong for you and your family.
I want to be real with you for a moment.
The last two years for What’s A Mortgage have honestly been a roller coaster. Highs, lows, lessons, stress, growth—everything. The good news? We’re about95% off that ride, and I couldn’t have gotten here without you.
Thank you to everyone who:
Followed the channel
Shared the channel
Trusted me with your loan
Watched, commented, or sent encouragement
To my clients and viewers—thank you. Truly.
What’s changing in 2026
As I talk to more clients and viewers, one thing has become very clear to me:
There is a huge lack of financial literacy in America.
And I’m in a very blessed position. I get to:
See behind the curtain
Absorb more information
Make mistakes
Learn through trial and error
My goal is simple:
I want to share what I’m learning so you don’t have to learn it the hard way.
This newsletter is going to be more than mortgages.
I’ll be sharing:
What’s happening in the market
What I’m personally working through
Financial lessons in real time
Things I wish someone taught me earlier
A reminder about how I work
I work 100% on referrals.
When you work with me, you’re not just getting a loan. You’re getting someone who’s with you through:
The ups and downs of homeownership
Mistakes I’ve already made (so you don’t have to)
Long-term planning, not just closing day
My personal goals for 2026
I want to share this with you because transparency matters.
My main goal for 2026 is to become a full-time day trader.
That doesn’t mean I’m leaving mortgages—I love what I do—but I am taking my foot off the gas a bit.
I’ll still be serving my existing real estate partners, but I won’t be adding many new ones. My focus is trading because trading creates time and financial freedom.
And I’ll say this honestly:
I’ve never met more people with real financial freedom than I have through trading.
It’s not easy. It takes 3–4 years to get good. Don’t give up. If you push through, the freedom on the other side is real.
Health, faith, and becoming a better Minh
This year I’m also focusing on:
Getting a full physical (I’ve neglected this)
Staying consistent with jiu-jitsu
Being intentional with my health before trying anything new
Most importantly, I’ll be sharing my faith more openly.
Without God, I wouldn’t have survived the last two years—personally or professionally. My goal is to grow spiritually and help empower you along the way.
Financial clean-up & wealth building
You’ll also see me sharing:
Reorganizing my finances
Building my kids’ credit
High-yield savings accounts
Custodial Roth IRAs (more on this soon)
HSAs since I buy my own health insurance
Updating and fine-tuning my trust
I’ll walk you through these steps as I do them.
Trading, covered calls, and education
I’ll be teaching:
Day trading
Covered calls (think of it like being a Wall Street landlord—you buy stocks and rent them out)
In 2025, I put about $20,000 into covered calls and averaged roughly 10% a month. In three months, that was about $6,000.
It’s boring.
It’s consistent.
And honestly—it’s old-money wealth.
All education will be free.
There will eventually be a premium option for those who want specifics like which stocks I’m buying, but the foundation stays open to everyone.
